I also loved that they had a chess board in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I stuck around and he beat me miserably at a game before we went back to our accommodations. The patio looked like fun too but it was too cold to brave. Highly recommend this place. I look forward to my next trip back to Big Bend JUST to get that steak again.
We came here our second night in Terlingua and I am SO GLAD WE DID. I ordered the steak and shared the plate with my boyfriend, we each got our own side salads and just shared a big, very reasonably priced steak and the side. DELICIOUS. The steak mushrooms are made out of well seasoned dreams. The steak was cooked perfectly but that red wine & mushroom sauce is what I wish for every time I order a steak. My dad makes his steak mushrooms exactly the same. I would kiss that chef! Very much appreciated.
This place was pretty good! We got there kinda late, around 815. We almost had the place to ourselves. Waitress was friendly and was very accommodating of my gluten and dairy intolerances. They cook everything in either butter, olive oil, coconut oil, or sesame oil according to their menu so I asked for olive oil. Steak was cooked like I asked and even the veggies were good! The side salad was fresh. My husband ordered a burger, and he ate it before I could get a halfway decent picture. He said it was good though. We were pleasantly surprised by this place. Would definitely return.
Very unique bar and grill. Sit inside or out live music, great simple food awesome service a must see.
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Beer & pizza were just right after a day exploring the park. There was live music and a nice crowd. We enjoyed the patio but the cavelike inside is worth checking out. Friendly staff and we had a nice chat with the owner--fascinating guy. Would recommend!
Unfortunately my family and I were not even able to try the food here. We stood waiting to be seated for 5 minutes without ever being acknowledged. One server walked by and looked directly at us at least 10 times, the bartender saw us standing the 5 or 6 times I noticed him look over. The whole time we were waiting for someone to even acknowledge that we were there, one of the tables was holding their check waiting for the server so that the could pay. I understand a wait if a place is busy or understaffed, but the least you can do is welcome your guests and say there is a wait.
