I went back into the store, this time with out my dog, to grab something we forgot. The two women watched me wander around and not once offered to help me find what I was looking for (salsa.) when I got to the register there was no greeting or questions if I had found what I was looking for. When I asked if they did cash back from a debit purchase I received a sharp NO.

This place has everything! It was so nice to not have to haul everything with us from East Texas but to pick up groceries once we actually arrived here. They have everything from the basics to specialty items. Prices are higher than you would pay in a larger town but that's to be expected. I think the convenience was worth every penny!

THE grocery store and more in the Big Bend, Study Butte, Terlingua and beyond. If you are visiting the parks or spending some time in the area, Cottonwood is the general store that has it all. In fact, if they don't carry it, you probably can't get it out here. From fresh produce to power tools, frozen entrees to nice bottles of wine, propane, block ice and more. Even if you don't need anything this place is a trip to walk around in. Go get what you need. Pro tip: You can fill your RV or jugs with fresh potable water here. Inquire inside.

They have so many organic and vegan options! As well as good options for meat eaters as well. Beer selection and wine are pretty good as well.

I did not see any immediate signs of NO PETS at the store front. Nor did I see any where I could tie him up with some water. When I was told I was in the wrong I immediately exited the store.

If you want to be treated with respect, I suggest you go elsewhere. Who knew carrying a tame 10lb dog was such a mortal sin.

Terrible experience in May 2017. I was camping in big bend and had patronized this store multiple times before coming in contact with two of the rudest clerks. While discussing personal matters behind the register (discussing ones pregnancy) an older clerk aggressively questioned me for holding my miniature dachshund while I ran in to grab fixings for supper. She asked if he was a service dog to which I answered no, she demanded he left before I even had the opportunity to apologize. I politely exited the store while my friend finished shopping when he heard them gossiping loudly about MY nerve to bring a dog into the store.

To be in the middle of nowhere, these people have a little of just about everything. The prices are rather reasonable as well, considering these people have virtually no competition. If they dont have what you are looking for, well you are just about looking at a trip to Alpine or Presidio..
