Location is good if you intend to visit Big Bend ! Very functional room.

Overpriced and old dirty rooms. Stale smelling and gross. The owners are extremely unfriendly and bitter old ladies. There isn't much in this area but I'd rather stay at the Big Bend Motor Inn than here. Pricing is better and the cleanliness is a step up from this. Plus the staff is actually friendly and they don't make you feel like a burden.

Nice...cheap... comfortable bed...clean....quiet... friendly...perfect after camping Bid Bend (keep in mind though not the Ritz, but very affordable). Five stars guys

This is the desert, not a chain hotel in the suburbs. If you want wifi, you have to walk up near the office to connect (or get a room near it). But being disconnected allows you to focus on the people around you and the scenery. The basic rooms don't have TV/fridge/microwave, but you can bring a method to heat food (charcoal for the grill or a camp stove are both allowed). I'm not sure what amenities are in the rooms near the office (I saw a TV) or the cabins.

We booked a simple room away from the office. Clean, comfy bed. Hot shower with good pressure. Great view out our window.

Chisos Mining Company Motel is a dump. I stayed in one of the "economy" motel rooms. Boy, howdy - is that an understatement! EVERYTHING is soiled and covered in stains, including the carpet, both chairs, the entire ceiling, etc. I honestly felt like I was in the most disgusting room I've ever stayed in. Wood paneling is coming off the walls. The shower curtain was so yellowed that I think it's never been replaced. Thank god I was only there for one night. Nice views outside, but there's no wonder why it's so cheap. The motel was almost completely empty and I was still given this garbage heap selection of a room. They're lucky they don't have much competition. EW!

We had a public grill and picnic table at the end of our building, which was a great spot to meet and make friends with the fellow travellers. The views of the stars were out of this world!

If you're a hiker for Big Bend and you want to have a nice base camp to come back to, this is a great place. The owners are friendly and helpful, and they even include "purple towels" which are OK to stain and use for your hiking boots/bike etc. And the views are just amazing.
