This place is amazing! Family owned and operated!!! The food is so fresh it tastes different. The owner makes her salsas and spices from scratch. You will have to wait, but honestly if your in the area to do anything but relax and slow down, then you should have stayed in the city! I would rather wait on my fresh food made with love, than get a quick meal from a chain any day.
My family and I had dinner here. The area is pretty small and so I totally understand the small restaurant.
The tables were dirty and had previous meals piled high. The waitresses were hovering around the register and didn't bother waiting on us for 5 minutes or more. The Mexican plate included a tamale that was petrified into a rock formation and the rest of the plate was marginal. The chicken fajita burrito was just bad...soggy, over-salted, covered with an unimaginative sauce. Skip the Chili Pepper and spend money elsewhere.
The food is OKAY...the meat was very dry and salty.
I ate there late on a Friday evening in September. I had chicken enchiladas and washed it down with a cold Mexican Coke. The food was tasty and I didn't have to wait long for it. It was typical Tex-Mex fare. Nothing spectacular, but it really hit the spot after a long day on the road.
The reason why I gave this place 3 stars is because it's not anything great or mind blowing. Just a very small cafe.
